The ASM R1 Le Mans is a faithfully hand-built replica of Aston Martin's iconic 1950s racing car, the DBR1, with which legendary driver Sir Stirling Moss is closely associated.
Developed and built by AS Motorsport, the ASM R1 Le Mans can have it's sleek body work made from either GRP coloured in metallic Aston Racing Green, or a combination of GRP and aluminium, the build time for the latter taking slightly longer.
Power usually comes from the trusted and relatively easily acquired Jaguar 3.4 litre straight six engine with twin SU carbs. If preferred, the customer can specify a suitable Aston Martin powerplant. A choice of transmissions are offered depending on engine spec and customer preference. The car weighs in at only 975kg so performance should be adequate!
Standard wheels are painted 16" wires shod with period Dunlop tyres. It has disc brakes all round, vented at the front and a stainless steel exhaust.
The interior features leather seats and headrests, Smiths instruments, a Mota-Lita wood rim steering wheel and alloy panelling.
